Robert Clarke’s “Cool Change Tour” recently made a stop in cairns, playing at the Civic Theatre to a sellout crowd.
The show featured three legendary Australian performers Glenn Shorrock, Wendy Matthews and Doug Parkinson. Presented in a cabaret style with the songs introduced by the performers and with plenty of banter in between songs.
Glenn Shorrock started off the show with his early hits and some very funny stories and jokes reminiscing on his career.

Doug Parkinson joined Shorrock on the stage talking about how they are more likely to have Zimmer frames and false teeth thrown up on stage instead of bras and panties these days…then launched into an outstanding version of “ a little ray of sunshine”
Then it was Parkinson’s turn to shine singing an outstanding melody of Ray Charles hits, Parkinson still has a great voice.

Wendy Matthews then hit the stage with the boys and then performed some of her solo hits from throughout her career.

The most amazing thing about this whole production apart from the outstanding band conducted by Robert Clarke was that all of these performers still had great voices and really were enjoying what they were doing up on stage….a lot of young performers could learn a lot from this show.

The Cool Change Tour gave the crowd what they wanted and the crowd left happy…
Wendy Matthews performs solo at Brothers Leagues Club on April 16th
Doug Parkinson returns to Cairns in “The Big Bopper” Saturday May 15th
