            EXHIBITION BY KRISTEN TENNYSON
            Tanks Arts Centre

Cultural identity, defining one’s sense of place within the context of the every day and an irrevocable connection to the land are the key tenets of Kristen Tennyson’s continually expanding and evolving body of work.
With her artistic practice running alongside her personal journey, Tennyson’s message has found expression in the fields of collage, sculpture, installation and assemblage. Her most recent body of work has seen influence from the tools of charting and ascribing meaning to space, notably maps, found objects and topographical reliefs of areas of the country she has explored. Using place as a metaphor for identity, Tennyson has developed a striking series of sculptural reliefs; creating new spaces for self-reflection, meaning and redefinition. Tennyson now brings her emotively charged and poignant collection to Tanks Arts Centre this February 5 - March 8. |
